Sticky Situation
As poaching efforts are mitigated in South Africa, the indigenous black rhino faces a new threat... A group of Colorado river toads, accidentally released into the wild, have found purpose in tormenting their victims. The Colorado river toad - bufo alvarius - is notorious for it’s psychotropic venom, 5-MEO-DMT. When ingested, the substance can cause intense visual and auditory hallucinations, paranoia, psychological manipulation, and death.
After creating low-polygon meshes in Rhino 7, I exported the model into 3DSMax. I rigged the head on the rhino, and captured the image at the three keyframe positions, and then again using motion blur. I overlayed all of the renderings in photoshop to get the final image. The lights in the scene are placed within the bellies of the frogs, and help illuminate the complex yet simple shadows casted in the scene.
